Laughing Outlaw Records is a Sydney based independent Record and Management company. It's attitude and approach is pretty simple - music fans releasing music for other music fans. Nothing more complicated than that.
Since opening up for business more than eight years ago the label has released over 100 albums. Most of them are on CD but nothing makes the Outlaws happier than also releasing something on vinyl. The label has distribution networks around the globe, an office in the UK and even its own Hi-Fidelity like retail shop if you're ever passing through sleepy Lewisham in the inner west of Sydney. The management company works with a number of artists associated with the label.
The Laughing Outlaw business family is large and complicated but Stuart Coupe runs the enterprise on a day-to-day level, his fellow director Paul Glover talks him out of silly decisions, Geraint Jones is UK label manager, and all the smart decisions and hard work come from Label Manager Julia Thomas and Label Assistant Nadia Onus . . . just don't tell them in case they get big headed.

If you can't find Stuart at the Laughing Outlaw playpen try the White Cockatoo Hotel in Petersham (we call it the Budgie - don't ask!) as that's the label's favourite place for late afternoon/early evening meetings that involve beer - and don't they all! And if you pass Laughing Outlaw Stuart's the one out the front smoking a cigarette and having a 'concept' meeting with himself. Stuart loves the Sydney Swans, Melbourne Bitter, crime fiction, ten gazillion records, books, magazines and CDs (most of which he lives with), his weekly hour of cover versions on FBI radio (Tuesday between midday and 1pm), New York City, Austin,Texas and Launceston, Tasmania.

Paul Glover is a Fulham FC 1976-77 fan. His drink of choice would be Lime and soda. When he’s not at Laughing Outlaw you'll find him on the sofa watching ‘The Shield’ or ‘Veronica Mars’.

If you can't find Jules at Laughing Outlaw, try FBi Radio, behind the merch desk in any venue in Sydney, or wherever you'll find Sydney FC and the Socceroos playing. She wishes she could go skiing more often, but there's always an unmissable band in Sydney when the snow's falling. If you're bringing the beer, try Corona or Carlton, if you're buying the air tickets, make it Sapporo, Lisbon or Madagascar. If you're cooking, make sure there's cheese involved.

Nadia joined the company in June 2006. She did a couple of internships in the industry and ended up at Laughing Outlaw where she is happily residing as Office Manager/Label Assistant. At the moment she is listening to Fionn Regan's album End of History and thoroughly enjoying it. If you can't find her at Laughing Outlaw that's because she's only here part-time. Her drink of choice would be Brownies Chocolate Milk and she has caught the travel bug, but in her case disease and will be jetting off in November, 07 for a 2 month whirlwind tour of everywhere she's ever wanted to go around the world, including some skiing in Fernie!

Geraint Jones is our UK Label Rep. He is a supporter of Shrewsbury Town FC, loves to drink Tea and when he's not at Laughing Outlaw you'll find him 11,000 miles away.
