De'May

De’May is an enchanting young folk songstress from the steel city streets of Newcastle.

Her debut album If We Don’t Leave Now was recorded by the serene Hawksbury River, NSW.  Released in March 2014 it has since gained a string of nationwide reviews.

The Sydney Morning Herald described De’May as having “a whole lot more to offer than standard singer-songwriter fare” as she weaves her way through the tenderness of folk and the dirty-grit of blues with ease and “a delightful quirkiness”.

“Some songs sound like a mix of Joni Mitchell and Suzanne Vega, but De’May has got enough of her own thing going on” described Stack Magazine. The Music also declared the debut album as “a pleasant surprise, featuring as it does her quirky songwriting, sultry voice and deconstructed band.”
