Jamie Hutchings meticulously carved out such an identifiable signature sound with his immediately recognisable voice and guitar tones that musical comparisons are superfluous – this album stands up as a masterpiece amongst his sprawling catalogue. Australiana themes abound…Percussion rattles alongside field recordings of thunder and birdsong, bass lines and piano snake their way through the light and darkness of 10 perfectly crafted songs. – REVERB MAGAZINE
Jamie’s voice is both fragile, like a naïve teenager in love, and wise, like that uncle at a family gathering whom everyone gravitates toward…pretty soon I’m going to get sick of pressing the replay button. – THE DWARF
In 2011 Jamie released his third full length album Avalon Cassettes. Recorded predominantly live to eight-track cassette Avalon Cassettes again saw acoustic instrumentation prioritised with liberal use of percussion, found sounds and his unique narratives.
He is currently working on a new project entitled Infinity Broke.
